In this season, the Lord has been prompting me to pray for a greater understanding of TRUTH and sharper DISCERNMENT, not only for myself, but the wider body. There is a great level of misunderstanding/misrepresentation of the whole truth, and deception that has come upon the people of God.

Unfortunately, we are seeing a mixture of the Word and the world, and it is distorting what is actually true.

Truth is not subjective, it is absolute. It is not based on a person’s thoughts, feelings or their version of the truth. The truth is the truth, regardless of whether or not you believe it to be so. It is also not about your truth, but THE Truth.

We also need to understand that 50%, 75% or 99% truth isn’t truth, it’s PART truth, mixed with lies and deception. There is so much out there today, presented as truth, that it is tricky to differentiate what is truth. That is where we need to have a firm knowledge and understanding of the Word, sharper discernment, and an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to guide us.

When we know the truth, we are set free. We can live in freedom. Unfortunately, anything other that 100% truth causes us to be trapped and to stay in bondage. But the choice is up to us, will we choose truth, and ultimately freedom? Or will we choose anything but the full truth, and ultimately, bondage?
